摘要
The solubility of oxygen in liquid potassium was determined over the temperature range 70-200 degree C by equilibrating liquid potassium with potassium monoxide and using the vacuum distillation technique. The temperature range was covered in increments of 2O degree C with a minimum of two determinations at each temperature. The solubility equation was derived by applying linear regression analysis to the results. This equation gives a heat of solution of 14,826 J mol** minus **1 for potassium monoxide in liquid potassium. The influence of trace amounts of sodium as impurity in the potassium is also discussed.
