摘要
The ac impedance spectroscopy technique is used to study the oxygen solubility and diffusivity in solid platinum and silver. The results are compared with previous results and are discussed in relation to the use of these metals as electrodes for solid oxide electrolytes. Bulk diffusion is the rate limiting step for silver, whereas surface diffusion is the oxygen rate limiting mechanism for Pt; Pt is essentially impermeable to oxygen, even at elevated temperatures.
