摘要
Several factors have an important bearing on the design of probes which are required to yield representative samples. In this paper, methods for obtaining isokinetic samples, and the effect of the shape of the probe inlet are discussed. Also, limitations on the size of the probe bore and its passage length are examined in the light of limited sampling time, particle deposition in situations where the flow is either laminar or turbulent, and compressibility effects when sampling in high velocity gas streams. Graphs are presented to assist with the selection of probe dimensions for sampling in air at 760 mmHg and 20°C. © 1968.
