摘要
Heated water was tested as an alternative quarantine treatment method for ethylene dibromide fumigation to control Anastrepha suspensa (Loew) infestations of eggs and 1- to 2-day-old larvae in Tommy Atkins and Keitt Florida mangos. Submersion of fruit (size 8 to 12 or 881 .+-. 40-469 .+-. 18 g) for 45-65 min in water at 46.1-46.7.degree. C produced 10 and 7 pupae, respectively, that did not eclose in an estimated treated population of 37,896 from Tommy Atkins and 49,026 from Keitt mangos. The treatment produced no visible injury to the fruit.
