摘要：

Further work in risk assessment, policy development, audit and evaluation would enhance the understanding of cross infection risk in nursing homes. Continuing difficulty in implementing recognized preventative measures is reported. This draws attention to the need for prioritization of nursing home infection control and adequate structures and processes, at local level.
