DIGITAL-SIMULATION OF CYCLIC VOLTAMMETRIC CURVES WHEN THE OXIDIZED AND THE REDUCED FORMS OF A REDOX COUPLE ARE PRESENT IN SOLUTION

摘要
The cyclic voltammetric behaviour of solutions containing initially both the reduced and the oxidized forms of a redox couple is studied. A digital simulation technique is used to determine the normalized current-overvoltage curves for reversible as well as for quasi-reversible reactions. It is shown that the main parameter for the description of the cyclic voltammetric behaviour of the system is given by {A figure is presented}. The same digital simulation technique is also used to obtain preliminary results for the CeqEr,. mechanism. The use of convoluted currents is shown to be very useful. The results obtained in this work show that cyclic voltammetry is a useful technique for the diagnosis and for the qualitative analysis of a chemical system in which the partial disproportionation of a species gives rise to a more oxidized and a more reduced species. © 1990.
