摘要
A spectrophotometric method has been developed to measure the asphaltene contents of petroleum cuts in the low concentration range, 150-20000 ppm. The method proved to be simple, rapid and convenient. A calibration curve between spectrophotometric response and asphaltene content as determined by the method IP 143/78 has been drawn for high asphaltene contents, up to 40 wt%. An average calibration curve was then established for low and very low contents, down to 150 ppm. This average calibration curve is suitable for blends of crude oils of various origins and petroleum cuts, and should be of use to refiners who need an estimate of asphaltene content in conversion feedstocks.
