摘要
A review is given of some basic features of adsorption from solution, emphasizing phenomena of relevance for emulsions. The exchange nature of the adsorption is treated and the complementary characters of thermodynamic and molecular approaches outlined in some detail. By way of illustration two case studies are discussed; adsorption of cationic surfactants to a clay mineral and an interpretation of the type of emulsion formed in terms of adsorption dynamics.
