摘要：

The CCITT (International Telegraph and Telephone Consultative Committee), the ISO (International Organization for Standardization), and the ECMA (European Computer Manufacturers Association) have been, or still are, working on standards that will permit document communication between document processing tools (editors, formatters) in multivendor office systems. The architectural model, the underlying processing model, and the principles of the interchange formats of the ECMA 101 and ISO Standards drafts are introduced, and possibilities of further development indicated.
