摘要
The DPC-EX is designed with an inner diameter of 1 m, an operating current of 10 kA, a maximum field of 10 T, and a field changing rate of 10 T/s. The conductor is a flat cable-in-conduit conductor composed of 153 Nb//3(SnIn) strands. The sub-channels are connected to main-channels (within the cable space) providing a mixing channel which removes the generated heat (e. g. , AC losses) and which reduces the pressure rise during quench. In order to decrease AC losses, tantalum as a tin diffusion barrier, and chrome to insulate the strands are provided. JK-1, which is a modified 316LN stainless steel and has good mechanical properties for aging under the heat treatment condition of Nb//3Sn, was chosen for the conduit material. The average heat load into the conductor is 0. 3 W/m. The temperature rise and pressure drop are below 1 K and below 1 atm, for a flow rate of 10 g/s and a coolant path length of 121 m.
