JERKY FLOW IN AL-LI-MG-CU ALLOY

摘要
Mechanical tensile tests with a constant stress fate sigma(o), were performed on specimens of technical Al-Li-Mg-Cu alloy annealed up to 433 K after preceeding solution treatment. During tests at room temperature jerky flow (PLC effect) occured. Results are compared with the theoretical model of PLC effect [1, 2]. The in situ measurements of resistance changes were performed during mechanical tests. Every jerk in the strain is accompanied by a pronounced resistance jerk followed by a slight resistance decrease. Possible explanations of this effect are discussed.
