TRIPLE-AXIS GONIOMETRIC MAGNETOTRANSPORT MEASUREMENT SYSTEM WITH 0.02-DEGREES ANGULAR RESOLUTION

摘要
A system useful for magnetotransport measurement on highly anisotropic materials is described. One type of cryostat can rotate a sample about two horizontal axes over an angular range of approximately +/- 15-degrees with a resolution of approximately 0.02-degrees, while another can rotate it about one axis over a wider range with a resolution of approximately 0.1-degrees. These sample holders are rotated about a vertical axis by a computer-controlled stepping motor with a 0.0036-degrees/step resolution in a horizontal magnetic field generated by a 7 T superconducting split-coil magnet. A few examples of measurements recently made by use of this system are given to illustrate the system's performance.
