THEORETICAL EVALUATION OF ERROR RATE DEGRADATION DUE TO FIBER 4-WAVE-MIXING IN MULTICHANNEL FSK HETERODYNE ENVELOPE DETECTION TRANSMISSIONS

摘要
The influence of fiber four-wave mixing on multi-channel FSK heterodyne envelope detection transmission systems is theoretically investigated. The expression for power penalty is derived to clarify the relationship between fiber input power and error rate degradation, and calculation examples are presented. The results shows that FSK heterodyne envelope detection system is easier to be degraded compared with FSK direct detection system.
