摘要
With the aim of improving our knowledge of electrochemical oscillations, this first paper is an attempt to standardize the experimental conditions for a given electrochemical system, involving small organic molecules, to produce current oscillations during oxidation under potentiostatic control. A survey of the known oscillating electrochemical systems is given first, then the study is systematically extended to the oxidation of all the small electroactive organic molecules on different catalytic metal electrodes. This careful search allowed us to observe several new oscillating systems, especially in alkaline medium. Their main characteristics are described briefly. Furthermore, the HCHO/Rh system in alkaline medium, which is shown to lead to strong and easily reproducible current oscillations, was investigated in detail regarding the influence of different experimental parameters. © 1990.
