摘要
The redox properties of Mg (II) have been studied using potentiometry and cyclic voltammetry. The standard potential of the electrochemical system Mg(s)/Mg(II) and the diffusion coefficient of Mg(II) have been determined (their values are respectively: E0(Mg(s)/Mg(II)) = 2.84 +/- 0.01 V/(Cl2(1 atm)/Cl-), D(Mg(II)) = (1.0 +/- 0.2) x 10(-5) cm2 S-1). The solubility product of MgO has been determined by simulating the experimental titration curve of Mg2+ cations by O2- anions (pK(s) = 6.2 +/- 0.1 in molality scale). The activity coefficient of MgCl2, the solubility of CaO and the chlorinating powers of the HCl/H2O and Cl2/O2 gaseous mixtures have also been determined. An equilibrium E-pO2- diagram is given.
