DIFFICULTIES OF RENORMALIZATION OF LIGHT-LIKE WILSON LOOPS

A Wilson loop with light-like edges is studied to order g4 in QCD, in order to see whether it is multiplicatively renormalizable in any sense. For the vacuum expectation value, the number of divergent constants is found to increase with the order. For other matrix elements of the operator, multiplicative renormalization probably fails completely.
