摘要
This article is the second in a planned series from the Section on Cancer of the ACCP. The first article (Little AG, Stitik FP: Clinical staging of patients with non-small cell lung cancer. Chest 97:1431-38, 1990) focused on clinical approaches to staging and emphasized the role of: (1) radionuclide scanning; (2) computed tomography; (3) magnetic resonance imaging; and (4) invasive staging. The current article focuses on prognostic factors for non-small cell lung cancer and the key role of TNM staging in the identification of patient subsets with increased probability of longer disease-free survivals.
