OBSERVATIONS OF NEAR-UV SUPERRADIANCE EMISSION FROM DYE-DOPED SOL-GEL SILICA

摘要
Lasing and fluorescence properties of two laser dyes (Exalite 377E & LD 390) in the near UV region were studied in silica matrices prepared by the sol-gel method. The dye-doped sol-gel silica samples fluoresced strongly under XeCl laser excitation and were also induced to superradiate. Superradiance emissions for Exalite 377E & LD 390 peaked at 376 nm and 403 nm respectively were observed. Conversion efficiency up to 27.8% was measured.
