摘要
Although much research is still required in order to develop reliable and cost-effective ceramic-matrix composites (CMCs), these materials have made great strides toward high-temperature applications. This article examines various CMCs and their high-temperature applications in both aerospace and nonaerospace fields. In the former, performance is the foremost consideration; in the latter, cost effectiveness is the prime consideration.
