ECDYSONE TITRES IN LAST LARVA AND ADULT STAGES OF MILKWEED BUG

Each day of the last larva stage and the first 10 days and the fourteenth day of the adult stage were assayed for ecdysone. There was no statistical difference in the amount of ecdysone/g of bugs between days 1 to 6 of the fifth instar and these days were all significantly higher than days 0 and 7. Ecdysone was detected at a low level on all the days of the adult stage that were tested except the day of ecdysis. © 1969.
