THE TRANSPORT OF HEAVY CHARGED-PARTICLES IN A CYLINDRICAL NUCLEAR-PUMPED PLASMA

摘要
The transport of heavy particles produced by the **1**0B(n, alpha )Li and **2**3**5U(n, nu n)ff nuclear reactions in a two-region cylindrical geometry is analyzed. Total spatially dependent energy current, power density, and transport efficiency are calculated. These results are significantly different from what would be predicted using a two-region slab model - the model generally used for kinetic analysis of nuclear-pumped plasmas. The calculated transport efficiency for a 0. 4 mg/cm**2 **1**0B coating was 9% and 16% for a 3. 3 mg/cm**2 **2**3**5UO//2 coating.
