SELF-EXCITATION IN FIBEROPTIC MICRORESONATOR SENSORS

摘要
In this paper we have demonstrated self-excitation of microfabricated microresonators in the form of metal-coated silicon dioxide strips with lengths of the order of 200 μm. We have configured them as fibre-optic sensors and used an all-fibre system. The response of the microresonators has been examined as a function of the distance between the fibre end and the device surface. The variation of resonance frequency with temperature has been measured over a range 25 to 70 °C. We have demonstrated the possibility of multiplexing these devices. © 1990.
