摘要
Emission from a wide range of vibrational levels (27 >= v' >= 0) of the (3)Pi(0(u)(+)) state of Br-2 has been observed during the interaction of singlet oxygen ((1)Delta(g), 1 Sigma(+)(g)) with dissociated bromine at 300 degrees K. The mechanism involves excitation by singlet O-2 either of : (1) a ground state P-2(3/2) to an excited state P-2(1/2) Br atom, followed by recombination, Br-2 P-2(3/2) + Br P-2(1/2) + M -> Br-2 B-3 Pi(0(u)(+)) + M: or (II), a (3)Pi(1(u)) excited Br-2 molecule (formed by recombination of Br P-2(3/2) + Br P-2(3/2) + M according to the bromined afterglow reaction mechanism), Br-2 (3)Pi(1(u)) + O-2 ((1)Delta g, (1)Sigma(+)(g)) -> Br-2 B-3 Pi(0(u)(+)) + O-2 X-3 Sigma(-)(g).
