摘要
An electron microscopic study of the ultrastructure and development of sperm packets of the M5 strain of Volvox aureus shows that the sperm packet develops very much like a vegetative colony. Male initials cleave incompletely and leave cytoplasmic bridges between sperm. Sperm packets are surrounded by outer limiting material possibly derived from the male initial wall and a packet boundary similar to the boundary of vegetative colonies. © 1969 Academic Press, Inc.
