SYNERGISTIC EFFECTS OF AIR-POLLUTANTS ON THE ATMOSPHERIC CORROSION OF METALS AND CALCAREOUS STONES

摘要
Some fundamental aspects of atmospheric corrosion chemistry are outlined. Atmospheric trace substances are of great importance to the atmospheric corrosion chemistry of metals and calcareous stones. The interplay of these substances with each other and with humidity on the material surface is decisive for the rate of atmospheric corrosion. In some cases, the combination of trace compounds leads to strongly accelerated corrosion. Some examples of such synergistic effects are presented. © 1990.
