FTIR INVESTIGATION OF THE POLYPYRROLE OXIDATION IN NA2SO4 AND NANO3 AQUEOUS-SOLUTIONS

摘要
The oxidation of polypyrrole films was studied by in situ FTIR spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry in aqueous NaNO3 and Na2SO4 solutions. The charge injection in the polymer produces a pronounced change of the position of some vibrational modes; an inflection in the slope of the frequency-potential curves at 0 mV vs SCE is observed for some of these analysed bands. These results are in quite good agreement with theoretical calculations presented in the literature. It is also observed that the spectroscopic band shift of the 1223 cm-1 band correlates well with the voltammetric experiments.
