ELECTRONIC CONDUCTION IN THE BAF2 SOLID ELECTROLYTE

The electronic conductivity of single crystal BaF2 was measured using the polarization cell Y + YF3|BaF2|Au. Quantitative data were obtained for n-type electronic conduction in the temperature range 700°-900°C. Qualitative evidence was obtained for the existence of electron-hole conduction in BaF2 at fluorine pressures close to 1 atm. © 1979, The Electrochemical Society, Inc. All rights reserved.
