Last year saw the publication of the 'Guidelines on radiology standards for primary dental care' - a joint report of the Royal College of Radiologists and the National Radiological Protection Board. This brief summary of the most important points has been prepared by Peter Hirschmann, consultant dental radiologist at the Leeds Dental Institute and also a representative of the Royal College of Radiologists on the working party responsible for the report.
