COLOR MAGNETIC STABILITY OF A DENSE QUARK GAS

摘要
We study the effective action of quantum chromodynamics at large quark densities as a functional of the classical gluon field, parametrized in terms of a color magnetic field. We find that in the axial gauges the effective action has a double series expansion in powers of g and lng, where g is the gauge coupling constant. We use the renormalization group to compute the leading behavior of the effective action at large quark densities and find that in this domain the perturbative vacuum is stable against fluctuations of the color magnetic field. © 1979 The American Physical Society.
