摘要
A dual treatment of fast-electron transport in laser-irradiated targets is presented. Two different regions, the core and the corona, are defined by the condition that the fast-electron density is, respectively, smaller (larger) than the thermal-electron density. Flux-limited multigroup diffusion is used to describe the core while an approximate collisionless quasi-steady-state model is used in the corona. These regions are coupled together by the fast-electron group densities and currents at the interface. This model particularly ensures that fast ions are coherently generated by the fast electrons. Numerical results are presented for slab targets. © 1979 IOP Publishing Ltd.
