摘要
The nucleation and growth of poly(thiophene-3-methanol) films on platinum electrodes in 0.1 M Bu(4)NClO(4) in acetonitrile were studied using potentiostatic steps. The electrochemical data suggest that the first layer of the polymer is formed through adsorption, after which the deposition continues by instantaneous nucleation and two-dimensional layer-by-layer growth. The slope S (mA s(-1)) of the early rising part of the chronoamperograms and the spreading rate V (cm s(-1)) of the growing nuclei are calculated as a function of growth potential and monomer concentration. The influence of the substituent CH2OH on the deposition process is discussed.
