摘要
One of the most important requirements for high level dosimetry of gamma -irradiation plants is the standardization of absorbed dose rate in a reference medium under conditions similar to those encountered in product irradiation. A four element graphite calorimeter consisting of a cylindrical absorber, jacket, mantle and shield was developed for direct measurement of absorbed dose at the center of a 30 cm diameter and 30 cm height graphite phantom irradiated to **6**0Co gamma -radiation in a radiation processing plant. The accuracy of the absorbed dose to graphite was estimated to be plus or minus 0. 8% at a dose level of 40 multiplied by 10** minus **2 Gy s** minus **1 (40 rad/s). The thermal kinetics of the calorimeter have been investigated.
