The magnetic susceptibilities of manganous propionate, butyrate, laurate and palmitate were measured between 2°K and 300°K. At the higher temperatures, all four compounds showed Curie-Weiss behaviour with c/χm = T - θ, θ being negative. Magnetic phase changes occurred, with the propionate becoming strongly magnetic below 45°K and the butyrate below 25°K. No phase changes were observed for the other two compounds although deviations from Curie-Weiss behaviour were observed below 10°K for both of them.
