摘要
Cytogenetic evaluation of peripheral lymphocytes from 52 workers exposed to low levels of benzene (less than 10 ppm) has revealed an increase in aberration rates as compared to that of a 44-person group seen for preemployment examination. Statistically significant differences were found in the distribution of specific types of chromosomal aberrations. These induced-aberrations levels were not related to the age of the workers. Continued study of benzene-exposed workers (as well as industrial populations exposed to any clastogenic agent) with medical cytogenetic surveillance, environmental monitoring, and lifetime epidemiologic investigation is recommended. © 1979.
