Conceptual studies of intraurban residential mobility have developed a number of theoretical concepts to explain behavior, but have not developed a general framework to interrelate these concepts into a well-connected theory. The purpose of this paper is to develop a general model of ultra urban mobility behavior which defines and interrelates the concepts of (experienced) place utility, apiration place utility, needs, and residential stress within the framework of consumer theory. -Author
