INHIBITORY EFFECT OF TRIETHYL LEAD ON SERUM CHOLINESTERASE IN VITRO

摘要
The inhibitory effect of triethyl lead, which is the main toxic metabolite of tetraethyl lead responsible for industrial intoxication, is demonstrated in vitro with a purified enzyme preparation of horse serum cholinesterase. Pyridine-2-aldoxime methiodide (PAM) and pralidoxime methylsulfate are able to restore the activity of the inhibited enzyme up to 80%. Such a reactivation allows us to consider both substances as potential antidotes for tetraethyl lead poisoning. © 1969.
