摘要
The electrocatalytic O2 reduction at glassy carbon and basal-plane pyrolytic graphite (BPG) electrodes coated with poly(o-phenylenediamine)(PPD)film, which can be prepared by electropolymerization of o-phenylenediamine in acidic aqueous media, was examined by cyclic voltammetry and rotating ring-disk electrode voltammetry. Especially, the quantitative analysis of the electrocatalytic reduction of O2 at BPG electrodes coated with monolayers of PPD (surface concentration of the electroactive site: (2-3) X 10(-10) mol cm-2) in air- and O2-saturated Na2SO4 solutions of pH 1.0 and 2.0 was conducted and the rate constant for the catalyzed reduction of O2 was estimated to be (1.4+/-0.5) X 10(6) M-1s-1. In addition, a brief discussion concerning the reaction mechanism was also given.
