摘要
N-14 ENDOR investigations of the (CH3)3N+CHCOO- radical in a gamma-irradiated betaine arsenate single crystal were performed at room temperature. The investigations reveal the full tensors of the N-14 hyperfine and electric quadrupole coupling. The N-14 hyperfine interaction tensor fits well to the model of the (CH3)3N+CHCOO- radical structure. The quadrupole tensor reflects the symmetry of the nitrogen site in the betaine molecule of the betaine arsenate. The Townes-Dailey approach was used to obtain the electronic population in the sp3 nitrogen orbitals from the N-14 nuclear quadrupole coupling.
