摘要：
Cashew nut shell liquid (CNSL), a by-product of the cashew industry, is one of the sources of naturally occurring phenols. It is obtained from the shell of a cashew nut. About 30-35% CNSL is present in the shell, which amounts approximately to 67% of the nut. Because of their phenolic character and the long alkyl chain which varies in its degree of unsaturation attached to the benzene nucleus of their molecules, the chief constituents of CNSL find many applications in several fields. This review covers the extraction, chemical composition and industrial applications of CNSL and its products. Refs.
