The phosphorescence of Fe3+ ions gamma-alumina

摘要
The phosphorescence spectra of Fe3+-doped gamma-alumina have been measured at room temperature. Emissions at 765 nm, 445 nm and 420 nm were observed. The red emission is in terpreted as being due to Fe3+ ions in octahedral coordination and the blue emissions as Fe3+ in tetrahedral coordination. Heat treatment of the Fe3+-doped gamma-aluminas shows that the Fe3+ ions favour octahedral coordination at higher temperatures.
