摘要
Fluid is contained in the annulus between concentric circular cylinders. With the outer cylinder held fixed a fluid motion is induced in the annulus when the inner cylinder performs small-amplitude oscillations perpendicular to its generators. The time-independent component of this motion is studied at finite values of an appropriately defined Reynolds number by means of numerical solution of the Navier-Stokes equations. The results obtained are compared with experimental observations and earlier theories. © 1979 Oxford University Press.
