摘要：

The relationship between the number of coherently bound molecules in a linear chain and the degree of diagonal disorder is obtained. An interpretation of the experimental low-temperature behaviour of the radiative lifetime of J-aggregated dye solutions is proposed. An estimate of the intermolecular dipole-dipole interaction is made that differs from the experimental value obtained by measuring the shift of the dimer absorption band maximum relative to that of monomer.
