PRELIMINARY STUDIES USING SILICON STRIP DETECTORS IN DIGITAL AUTORADIOGRAPHY

A prototype 1-d silicon strip detector system for applications in autoradiography is described. The commercially available detector allows 2-d imaging to be achieved by acquiring projection data at multiple angles as the source is rotated above the detector. Standard image reconstruction techniques are employed to produce the final 2-d image. The first test performed is presenting showing that tomography is possible with 1-d silicon strip detectors.
