摘要
Refraction seismic profiles and gravity measurements were carried out in the western part of the Canarian Archipelago between latitudes 29°10′N and 27°20′N and longitudes 15°00′W and 18°50′W by this Department between June and July 1967 in collaboration with the Geological Survey of the Federal Republic of Germany with the German Research Ship FS Meteor, sponsored by the German Research Council. The results indicate that the crust around the western Canaries is of the oceanic type and of transitional type in the central part of the island group. A downwarping of the Moho-discontinuity, probably in a series of steps towards the African continent, leads to a set of complex faults. © 1969.
