DIRECT OBSERVATION OF DAVYDOV SPLITTING IN ANTIFERROMAGNETIC YCRO3

摘要
Four zero-magnon lines (≈13700 cm-1) are observed in an antiferromagnetic crystal, YCrO3. These are assigned to two pairs of Davydov-split exciton transitions. Thus, Davydov splitting due to the spin-forbidden resonance energy transfer between the inequivalent magnetic ions is found to be ≈ 2 cm-1. © 1969.
