DECAY OF A NEW 26 NS ISOMERIC STATE IN 159GD

摘要
The decay of a 26 ns isomeric state at 68 keV in 159Gd populated in the reaction 158Gd(d,p)159Gd has been investigated by delayed coincidence techniques. The most likely Nilsson assignments is frac(5, 2)+ | 642 |. The decay proceeds by K-allowed, twice n2-forbidden El transitions to the frac(3, 2)- | 521 | ground and first rotational states, respectively. The transition to the ground state has a Nilsson hindrance factor of 41, and the branching ratio of the El transitions deviates strongly from the prediction based on the Alaga rule. © 1968 North-Holland Publishing Co., Amsterdam.
