By relaxation and creep measurements on Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) and Polyvinylchloride (PVC) in the linear viscoelastic region below the glass transition temperature it is shown, that at different temperatures measured dispersion curves of the Young's Modulus can be shifted to a master curve to the first approximation, if it is used for the horizontal shifting parallel to the frequency axis a simple shifting principle based on the Eyring rate theory combined with an empirical vertical shifting. The molecular interpretation of this method to construct master curves and the technical importance of this method is discussed. © 1979 Dr. Dietrich Steinkopff Verlag.
