摘要
The formation and functionalization of monolayers can be studied by means of a quartz-crystal microbalance. This method was used along with ellipsometric and IR-spectroscopic investigaions to prove that a monolayer forms on adsorption of 3-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane (APS) on an aluminum oxide substrate. This surface-bound APS reacts with gaseous chlorodimethylsilane quantitatively to form an immobilized dimethylsilyl-ammonium salt.
