BOUND STATES OF ALKALI AND NOBLE-GAS ATOMS

摘要
The numbers of bound states for mixtures of alkali and noble-gas atoms have been calculated for a 6-10 Lennard-Jones interatomic potential function. For this calculation, a simple analytic expression for the number of bound vibrational levels as a function of the angular-momentum quantum number has been obtained. Bound molecular states were found for all alkali-noble-gas atom pairs for which potential-function data are available. From these numbers of bound states, internal partition functions have been calculated and, finally, values obtained for the number densities of alkali-noble-gas molecules. © 1969 The American Physical Society.
