摘要：

Before entering a nest to lay the adult domestic hen gives a special call, the audiospectrographs of which are shown. This call was elicited in young immature females by oestradiol treatment. The adult hen when giving this call is orientated away from her pen-mates and the young treated females showed a similar orientation when calling. However they did not show the restlessness which the adult hen displays at this stage. © 1969.
